Job Description :
Essential Duties:
Plan and direct activities concerned with design and development of protective packaging containers: Analyze specifications of product to determine physical characteristics of item, special-handling and safety requirements, and type of materials required for container.
Create finished good package design to include complete technical documentation (drawings, specifications, etc.)
Plan utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve efficiency of operations.
Establish work measurement programs and consult with purchasing and production departments to determine costs and feasibility of producing proposed packaging.
Recommend methods for improving worker efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
Conduct cost analysis of new or proposed changes to packaging.
Assist in production problem solving as it relates to the functionality of current or new packaging.
Advise employer or customers on efficient packing procedures, innovations in packaging materials, and utilization of sealing and fastening devices.
Work with existing packaging suppliers to improve product packaging
Develop and execute plan to implement returnable packaging for purchased materials
Coordinate necessary testing of new or modified packaging

Job Requirements :
Qualifications (Education and Experience):
Required
Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Packaging Engineering or related field.
Desired
5 or more years of full cycle packaging design experience
Experience implementing lean manufacturing strategies to improve process flow and reduce cost
Skills and Capabilities (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
Required
Understanding of transit and packaging testing equipment utilized by ISTA certified facilities
Understanding of current industry standards as well as related governmental and international environmental regulations.
Ability to create, read, and interpret drawing requirements and specifications.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong initiative and the ability to be self-directed in completing tasks.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, in addition to strong teamwork, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Demonstrated ability to represent the company professionally to both customers and suppliers.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptive to internal processes and change, delays or unexpected events
Proficiency at the intermediate to experienced level in CAD and MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
Ability to travel up to 35% to domestic and/or international sites
Desired
Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies and principles.
Knowledge and/or experience with CATIAEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
