Position Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Electronic Controls Technician is responsible to maintain the electro-mechanical systems in the bakery. This is accomplished through performing preventive maintenance work orders, planned maintenance work orders and emergency repairs of bakery equipment. The Electronic Controls Technician maintains and trouble shoots controls software, controls hardware (such as PLC's, instrumentation, variable frequency drives, etc.) and mechanical systems (such as gearboxes, pumps. bearings, pulleys. etc). The Electronic Controls Technician participates in LEAN events to improve the efficiency of the bakery. This position will work a rotating, variable schedule that will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Trouble -shoot and repair electro-mechanical equipment problems throughout the plant.
Responsible for replacement of parts.
Perform Preventative Maintenance on assigned equipment.
Recommend needed improvements and upgrades to keep plant current with technology.
Write programs for controls and operator interface screens for new projects and equipment upgrades.
Train others basic PLC skills.
Properly document work performed.
Position Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
3-5 years PLC ladder logic programming. Preferably Allen- Bradley.
Operator Interface programming.
Strong computer skills.
Strong electrical skills.
Familiarity with instrumentation.
Experience troubleshooting and repairing control system hardware.
Strong understanding of process controls.
Good Mechanical skill.
Good communication skills
Knowledge of a secondary programming language (VB, C,) is a plus.
Must have ability to routinely and frequently stoop, bend, reach, climb ladder/scaffolds, lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and to work in tight, cramped spaces.
