THE ROLE YOU WILL PLAY:
Reports to the Planning Supervisor
High Volume Manufacturing
The primary focus of this position is to ensure the plant has parts to run to the production schedule and to help increase supplier delivery performance and the supplier relationships.
Develop a thorough understanding of the supplier's process and capabilities and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support production requirements.
Use and maintain MRP data as the primary planning system tool.
The qualified individual must become experts in PRMS supplier/planning modules, responsible for maintaining system integrity, managing and updating the data and making recommendation as to how we can use the system more effectively.
The qualified candidate will also become expert users in the Yard Management system, Transportation management system and ION forecasting tool. T
They Manage inventory levels and days of supply / inventory turns to support department KPI's.
Manage new product introduction integration with suppliers and with the plants.
Coordinates trucking requirements and schedules with the suppliers, logistics and warehousing; both outbound and inbound materials.
Develop standard work processes for their suppliers and follows them to ensure the suppliers are successful in meeting company needs.
Understands supplier capacity calculations and availability to ensure supply continuity. Meets with the suppliers periodically in the plant to work out issues and improve relationships. Ensures suppliers meet our policy and procedures, especially weekly demand review confirmations. Tries to solve supplier issue and reports them to the supervisor if they can't be solved
Maintains inventory levels of purchased materials to meet all customer and production requirements but must manage inventory so as to not have excess stock (JIT)
Coordinates supplier deliveries between the suppliers and our logistics teams and tracks dailyPerforms internal audit processes as required
Maintain control of documents and records to ensure proper audit trails
Works within KPI goals.
Responsible for managing supplier returnable container replenishment, works with teammates to improve dunnage where there are issues of safety, quality and efficiency.
Performs in accordance with the uniform commercial codes and other governmental codes
System entry and data analysis as required to continuously improve performance
Responsible for PRMS system integrity for purchased parts.

BACKGROUND PROFILE:
Relevant Degree required
5 plus years experience working in a high volume, high dollar inventory consumer products manufacturing experience is desired.
MRP
APICS certification a plus.
Lean, JIT, Kanban
Must be self directed and self disciplined, ability to perform duties without close supervision
Excellent teamwork, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills are required, along with a strong work ethic.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a fast paced and high stress environment
Solid personal computer skills are required and experience / familiarity with MRP planning is required
Ability to work off shifts and overtime (including weekends) as needed is required.
Good reading and writing skills and analytical analysis of data
Excellent math and logical thinking skills
ION is a plus
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
